One of the governing principles of Beverley Men in Sheds is to help with projects in the local community.

We work with many different groups, including: Woodmansey Parish Council, Oldroyd’s Corner CIC, Molescroft Wildlife Network, Beverley Minster, Risby Homes, Beverley in Bloom, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Frith Farm and various local schools and churches. We have also undertaken jobs for local individuals. The projects include building a bandstand, dismantling a fire-damaged children’s fort, cleaning and re-painting Guide Dog collection boxes, completing an order for 20 bird-boxes, 10 owl-boxes and 8 bat-boxes, various poster boards, garden benches and tables, planters, notice-boards as well as numerous smaller tasks. One of our “specials” is making wig-stands for MacMillan Cancer Support.

We also do projects for ourselves, particularly making objects for sale. These include wooden bowls, turned pens, various bird houses, garden ornaments, tea-light holders and refurbished garden tools.

If you have your own project which you would like to carry out, that is not a problem. Should you need any help, we have members with a wide range of experience who may be able to assist.
